I’m Michael Criscuolo, and I’ve been writing professionally since 2001, when I began a decade-long stint as a drama critic for nytheatre.com (R.I.P.). During my time there, I also wrote book and CD reviews, and co-hosted nytheatre.com’s two flagship podcasts, “The nytheatrecast” and “The Indie Theater Life.” My work has also appeared in American Theatre and Culturadar.

I received a BFA in Drama from New York University, and studied at Playwrights Horizons Theater School.

I have written a pair of short plays for one-night-only benefits: “Made” for Boomerang Theatre Company, and “Last Day on Earth” for Renegade Redhead Productions. I have also written short scripts for the New Jersey One-Minute Play Festival.

I was born and raised in New York City, and now live in the greater San Francisco Bay Area.
